By accessing and using Word2Markdown ("the Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provision of this agreement. If you do not agree to abide by the above, please do not use this service.
Word2Markdown is a free, client-side document conversion tool that converts Microsoft Word documents (.docx) to Markdown format entirely within your web browser.
Key characteristics of our service:
- All processing occurs locally in your browser
- No user registration or account creation required
- No file uploads to external servers
- Free to use for personal and commercial purposes
You agree to:
- Use the Service only for lawful purposes
- Not attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service
- Not use the Service to process illegal, harmful, or malicious content
- Respect intellectual property rights of document content you convert
- Use a modern, supported web browser for optimal functionality
Your Content: You retain all rights to documents you convert using Word2Markdown. We do not claim any ownership or rights to your content.
Our Service: The Word2Markdown website, code, and branding are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. However, our source code is available under an open-source license on GitHub.
Third-Party Libraries: Word2Markdown uses open-source libraries (Mammoth.js, Turndown.js) which are subject to their respective licenses.
No Data Collection: We do not collect, store, or process any personal data or document content. All conversion happens locally in your browser.

Uptime: We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access to the Service.
Maintenance: We may temporarily suspend the Service for maintenance, updates, or improvements.

As-Is Service: Word2Markdown is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.

Word2Markdown is an open-source project. The source code is available on GitHub under the MIT License, which allows you to:
- View and audit the source code
- Contribute improvements and bug fixes
- Fork and modify the code for your own use
- Deploy your own instance of the service
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may terminate or suspend access to the Service immediately, without prior notice, if you violate these Terms of Service.
We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction where Word2Markdown is operated, without regard to conflict of law principles.
